The Northwestern State Demons, of the Southland Conference,  went into Joe Aillet Stadium Saturday night in Ruston, Louisiana, and beat the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs 30-27.  This is yet another FCS victory on FBS home turf and is all the sweeter for the Demons because it was against an in-state school.  In a state where college football is taken very seriously, this is big stuff indeed.

Louisiana Tech, of Conference USA, led this game 20-10 going into the fourth quarter only to be outscored by the Demons 20-7 in the last frame.   Two of the Bulldogs five turnovers in the game came on their last two possessions and resulted in the game tying and game winning field goals for Northwestern State.  The former was at 1:05 left in the game from 29 yards out and the latter from 47 as time expired.  Both were by Chris Moore who had three for the game.

Northwestern State never gave up in the game and Louisiana Tech imploded at the most inopportune time.  Just another Saturday night in the Bayou State.
