North Carolina A&T Adds to 2018 FCS Victories Over FBS Teams
North Carolina A&T added a fifth victory to the tally of FCS victories over FBS teams in the first full weekend of college football in 2018.
North Carolina A&T 28 at East Carolina 23
North Carolina A&T came from behind three times yesterday to ultimately win this game. This MEAC and HBCU outfit showed significant grit and determination to not only get that done, but to do it in a game which was postponed due to weather the previous day. Additionally, East Carolina’s Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium is known as a tough place to play and get out with a win. The Pirates are in the AAC, which took its second FCS defeat of the weekend.
The Aggies are proving to be one of the best teams in the FCS. They beat Jacksonville State in the first game of the season. Jacksonville State has owned the Ohio Valley the last few years and has made the FCS playoffs repeatedly, including a national championship game appearance.
North Carolina A&T was 12-0 last year, including an FBS win against Charlotte, and a win in the Celebration Bowl. New head coach Sam Washington appears to be picking-up right where the newly retired Rod Broadway left-off. That would be at the intersection of Broadway and Washington, just down the street from Celebration and Winning.
